One of Life's Little Ironies...

In a bold move by the Gods of Fate, it has been decreed by one of my professors that I have to create another blog for her class and post something on it twice a week. I find this hilarious since I barely keep up the blog that I have, and now I have to post for a grade...Somewhere someone is laughing at this ironic move! The class studies the effects of media in our lives, and Dr. Coyne thought that it would be a great way to experience the life of a blogger to assign us this task. She also feels it's important for future parents to be fluent in all the forms of media that their kids can get into. Not a bad philosophy. Having my other blog was nice, however, because right after I posted for my school assignment I hopped on this blog and started typing this. Maybe this will result in more posts for you all to read, too. We shall see! If any of you are SUPREMELY bored and want to check out my other blog, it's www.mediafan09.blogspot.com. I basically just have to post anything about any form of media that comes to mind twice a week. Is it too nerdy to admit that it's been kind of fun? :)
Other than that, school's been going pretty good. Lots of work ahead of me; I kind of want to go back to bed when I think about all that I have to get done in the next 3 months. I'll learn a lot, though, and that's what's important!

Hello Everybody! I know it's been a little while, but life got crazy for a couple of weeks!

First of all, I was able to go up to Logan the end of July and babysit Mylah while Tasha and Justin went to the hospital to have Marek. It was awesome! I was so happy to help and Mylah was so cute that it was a lot of fun. Being there to see Marek was also amazing. He's such a cute little guy! Here's a picture of me holding him-the first Aunt or Uncle to hold him, by the way, but I'm not bragging ;)

I spent the first week in August at the Weber County Fair helping my roommate sell frogs. Yes, I mean real live frogs! :) They were African Dwarf Frogs, and were about the size of a quarter. Very cute, and fun, but it was a lot of work out in the hot sun and very long days. The money I made, however, went towards my trip that I'll be leaving on tomorrow to: SAN FRANCISCO!! I'm so excited to leave! My ex-roommate, an ex-companion/best friend, and I decided that we need a vacation before the start of the next semester, so we're taking off tomorrow morning and we'll be gone all week. I'll give you an update when I get back!

A Tale of a Tricky Englishmen

I know it's crazy to have me post nearly two days in a row, but something really funny happened tonight, and I just had to write about it!
As most of you know, I am a card carrying member of the Virgin Lips Club: a club for those who have not yet been kissed. Well tonight that status changed. That's right-my VL club card has (sortof) been revoked, and all because I went to ward temple night and a sneaky British boy.
Here's the story: My ward has a dinner after our temple session, and a bunch of us just hang out and eat food (two of my favorite things to do). Well, as I was leaving tonight, a British boy who shall remain nameless grabbed my hand and told me "Have a sit down" by him. I did, and within a few minutes he had tricked me into holding his hand by having us compare tans. Pretty sneaky, right? Then he pointed at his cheek and asked me to give him a "Spot of a kiss". As I leaned in to kiss his cheek, he turned his head, and I ended up kissing him on the lips! Tricky Englishman! I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, and, of course, this all happened with a roomful of my fellow ward members. Classic!
So, I'm not sure if it really counts, but I have officially had my VL card revoked. Good times...

Signs

I finally decided to get a cute background for my blog. So:Ta-da! Here it is! If you want to take this as a sign that you will be seeing more posting from me in the future, so be it.

In recent news, I was set up on a blind date by my mother-thanks, Mom! His name is Jake, I think, and apparently Mom was a friend in high school to his mom. I haven't gone on the date yet, that'll be this Friday. I'll let you all know how that goes!

Also, I volunteered working a children's game booth at Draper Days last night, and then watched the fireworks afterwards. It was a lot of fun, and the kids were really cute, but getting out of there when it was time to go was a joke! I sat in my car for 30 minutes with the engine off because we weren't moving AT ALL. If it hadn't been for the fact that I have the internet on my cell phone, I think I would've gone nuts!

Back From Vacation

The last two weeks I spent in Wyoming with my family. It was great, and a lot of fun to see family members I haven't seen in two years. I caught a cold my first day, (who does that, in June, no less!), and spent the rest of vacation fighting it off :(
WEnt camping an fishing, but we got rained out of both. My favorite moments include winning at Dominos, camping with my family, watching baseball with my Grandpa Averett, and watching the new Transformers movie with siblings!
Next up: a road trip to Cali in August. Some friends and I are going to San Fransisco, LA, and San Diego. If anyone has suggestions about where we should stop, let me know!

The End of a Semester. Yea!

Hey Everybody! Twice in one year; you should be impressed. Actually, I just wanted to try staying on top of this, so I'm giving it a go. I am a much better Facebooker than I am blogger. If anyone wants to contact me, that's the best way. Anyway, life is good here in Provo! I survived finals, and mangaged to almost achieve my goal of a straight 4.0 semester. I ended up with 3 A's and 1 B+. Gah! So close. Spring term has started, and I'm taking 2 classes in a push towards graduation this December. They look like interesting classes, so I'm happy with school at the moment.

The other news is that I'm currently not liking boys too much. :) I'm getting over a guy that I thought was perfect for me, but apparently he didn't feel the same way! J/K It wasn't that dramatic(mostly-my Mom might state otherwise!), but I did come to realize something, thanks to my parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends. Basically, I learned that I need to realize my own individual worth more, and that I am loved!! Thanks to everyone who helped me remember this. You're the best!

Here's a picture of the man in question-he's still a friend, even if it didn't work out between us.

She's Alive!!!!

Hey Everybody! Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated! :) I am here in Provo, and I am still going to school. So much happened last Fall that I kept feeling like I was behind, so I just decided not to post anything! It made sense at the time....

Anyway, I went to Reno this last weekend to Nathan's Retiring Address at the Nevada State FFA Convention. It was awesome! Nathan was so MATURE (weird, I know)! It was awesome to watch him help run the show, as well as give his entire address from memory. It was very inspiring to watch, and I was very proud of him. Well worth the trip! I also went on a blind date with one of Nathan's friends, Ty. It was fun; we went bowling. I'm not the best bowler, but it was still fun!
